Building a diverse workplace
We aspire to be a workplace where we embrace differences, celebrate curiosity and innovation. Our Blueprint for transformation asks us to reflect and take stock of what we know about our existing culture and what’s needed to move us forward.
Over the past year, we’ve made progress on several initiatives that will support our culture for years to come.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy
In March 2022, we launched our first Diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy. This strategy lays the groundwork to transform OSFI into an organization that embodies diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level, in everything we do.
- Our work was recognized as a best practice in the Annual Report on the Operation of the Canadian Multiculturalism Act 2021-2022
Accessibility Plan 2023-2026
Launched in December 2022, our Accessibility Plan details how we’ll uphold Accessible Canada Act principles. The plan also outlines how we expect to continue to improve accessibility and offer a work environment that provides accessible technologies and products for employees and Canadians.
National Capital Region top employer of 2023
For a third year in a row, OSFI was selected as one of the National Capital Region’s Top Employers of 2023 (English only). This award reflects the hard work of all our employees across the country. We were specifically recognized for:

- our focus on the longer-term welfare of employees with:
- a health benefits plan that extends to retirees (with 50 per cent premium coverage)
- a defined benefit pension plan
- excellent family friendly benefits, including providing:
- maternity leave top-up payments
- parental leave top-up payments that can be shared between employees who are new parents including adoptive parents
