Message from the Actuary

  • The 7-year forecast break-even rate decreases from 1.74% in 2023 to 1.66% in 2024.
  • The premium rate for 2024 is expected to be set at 1.66%. It represents an increase of 0.03%, from a premium rate of 1.63% in 2023.
  • The Premium Reduction Program for employers who sponsor qualified wage-loss plans is expected to reduce employer contributions to EI by $1.3 billion in 2024.
